Guill and Sandra de Pury of Yeringberg make wines from low yielding wines, obtaining an astonishing texture and complexity. Their wines are from some of the oldest vines in the Yarra Valley and their estate has a tremendous reputation both at home and abroad. After being abandoned, Guill and his wife Katherine replanted the vineyards in 1969 and they have been continuously tended to ever since.
The Yeringberg Cabernet Sauvignon is exceptionally floral on the nose. Rose, violet and fresh herbs mingle with more classic dark fruit aromas. Blackcurrant, plum and red fruits are also present with subtle hints of graphite, cedar and cocoa. The patio is of medium weight with fine, but assertive tannins and a solid acid core. There is a fresh redcurrant and green tobacco finish, accompanying the excellent length.
