Billecart-Salmon is one of the most renowned Champagne houses in the world with good reason. The Champagne house is run by the same family since its establishment in 1818. Using grapes sourced from Epernay, Billecart-Salmon use only the finest fruit.
Elisabeth Salmon’s brother is the namesake of the Cuvee Louis, which celebrates the bicentenary. All the fruit is from the best Grand Cru vineyards and the resulting wine rests for 11 years on lees. The wine undergoes partial malolactic fermentation and 5% ages on old oak.
The Billecart-Salmon Cuvee Louis Blanc de Blancs has apricot tart, popcorn, vanilla brioche and nougat notes. Decant this wine before drinking for full enjoyment. Despite the rich flavours, the bright acidity gives excellent freshness. The texture is deliciously chalky with a persistent finish.
