Named after two early explorers of Victoria, George Bass and Arthur Phillip, Bass Phillip is one of Gippsland’s most premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers. Their several vineyards in South Gippsland have been treated biodynamically for nearly two decades, further enhancing the signature of each vintage and soil type. This region also offers deep mineral rich soils, natural humidity and cool temperatures. The resulting wines exhibit length, complexity of flavours and natural minerality.
The Bass Phillip Gamay is satisfyingly mouth filling with ripe red berries and hints of fresh blueberries on the palate. Juicy red berry aromas accompanied by spice enhance the experience. The tannins are super fine and aid the long finish. Hints of savoury spice and wild cherries with a juicy core of acidity drive the palate. A very drinkable wine which will please most palates.
Bass Phillip Gamay is great to enjoy as it is, on its own! It is also an ideal match to charcuterie and cold cuts of meats.
