Chateau Palmer are well known for producing vibrant wines with excellent, deeply concentrated aromas. Rich in texture and with a supple and such mouthfeel, the flavours are famously fresh and fruity. 1995 was an excellent vintage in Margaux, producing rich and structured wines. The result is an harmonious and perfectly balanced wine with opulent layers of complexity.
Chateau Palmer picked their grapes at optimum ripeness, however this was 10 days early due to an early start to the ripening season. There is 40% Merlot in this blend, giving a generous nose of red berry fruits and subtle hints of lemongrass. High levels of super-smooth tannins also complement the full body with flavours raspberry and savoury, smoked meats. The wine shows good depth with an excellent structure and a very long finish.
The 1995 Chateau Palmer is at optimum maturity now, but will still keep. Enjoy with a roasted pigeon or other feathered game.
