Meet Our Team – Kamiya Parekh

Assistant Sommelier

For Kamiya Parekh, the world of wine didn’t come from a textbook, but from a busy dining room. While studying marketing, she began working casually at Rosetta Ristorante, where she found herself drawn to the energy of hospitality. That spark grew and wine became more than a passing interest. After graduating, she chose to follow that passion and eventually joined the team at Botanical Hotel as Assistant Sommelier.

Now, Kamiya brings a thoughtful and intuitive approach to the wine program at Botanical Hotel. For her wine is more than just a drink – it’s culture, science and storytelling all at once. She finds joy in sharing that with guests, creating space for discovery and connection at the table. Whether introducing something new or finding the perfect match for a dish, Kamiya believes the best wine experiences are personal, curious, and open to surprise. She has recently completed her WSET Level 3 qualification, further deepening her knowledge and expertise.

Her heart belongs to Barbaresco, and her dream is to explore the vineyards of Piemonte in person. That love of Italian wine is matched by a love of Italian food – and while wine is her first passion, she also has a soft spot for a well-crafted cocktail. From a crisp gin martnini to a citrusy Southside, she believes in enjoying the moment, whatever’s in the glass.
