Established in 1928, De Bortoli remains a family run business to this day. With Steve Webber and Darren De Bortoli at the helm, their wine making remains as innovative as it was in the beginning. Their portfolio includes a vast number of brands with the aim to please any palate, at any price point.
De Bortoli Noble One is arguably the best botrytis wine in Australia. It is also the first, with the first vintage being released in 1982. With foggy and humid autumns, the Riverina district is the perfect breeding ground for botrytis cinerea.
The 2016 vintage is lusciously sweet with caramelised apricot aromas, orange, pineapple and ginger spice. The palate is full and sweet, but perfectly balanced by a piercing acidity. This is a very high quality dessert wine which shows layers of complexity featuring dried apricot, peach, lemon and vanilla. It is surprisingly light and delicate.
The De Bortoli Noble One is an ideal match to lemon meringue pie or to a strong blue cheese such as Roquefort.
