The Provenance winery was established in 1997 by current winemaker Scott Ireland and his partner, Jen Lilburn. Scott’s experience hails from a wide variety of regions across Australia, including the Barossa Valley and Tasmania. This experience is crucial as they source fruit from eight vineyards, spread across Geelong, Ballarat, Macedon and Henty. Each and every site is selected as an optimum terroir for each grape variety.
The fruit for this Pinot Noir is a blend of Geelong, Ballarat and Henty grapes, giving a well balanced and overall complex expression of the grape. The result is a deep and structured wine with notes of plum and savoury spice. The mouth feel is smooth and rich, supported by fine grained tannins. Also, hints of bramble and bramble bush give an enhanced complexity to the palate, paired with a naturally bright acidity.
This Pinot Noir is a great match with leaner cuts of beef such as Eye fillet.
