Patrick Piuze is a firm believer in terroir and its effect on wine. He recognises that each parcel of land is unique and and as such enhances the underlying characteristics of the soil and grape. Through his experience working for both Domaine Verget and Domaine Brochard, he learnt the very best winemaking practices in Chablis. His wines are aged in young 6-8 year old wood, thereby not allowing any oak flavours to be imparted on the wine.
The Patrick Piuze Les Forets Premier Cru Chablis shows prominent orchard fruits such as green apple and pear. These flavours mingle with mineral, wet stone and honey notes. The palate is broad, yet supple, with vibrant citrus flavours and bright acidity. The 2018 vintage is an excellent Premier Cru, showing beautiful balance and mineral-driven complexity.
The Patrick Piuze Les Forets Premier Cru Chablis is a delicious match to shellfish and also to creamy pasta dishes.
