Best’s vineyards have been producing wine in the Great Western region of Victoria for a century and a half. Still to this day, the winery is family owned and operated. The Thomson family acquired the business in the 1920’s and have been making the wine ever since. With vineyards first planted in 1866, Best’s Wines have been a true and trusted player on the Victorian wine scene for generations.
Parts of the Best’s Great Western Riesling plot can be traced all the way back to Germany. Authentic and textural, this wine is made with pure varietal fruit characteristics in mind. The wine offers abundant aromas of lemon nacho pear and subtle hints of jasmine. The palate is fresh and zesty with citrus crunch apple and a steely mineral backbone.
Recommended with mussels cooked in white wine and garlic served with crusty bread.
