Having worked many vintages working for big wineries such as Yalumba, Wolf Blass and Peter Lehmann, Dave Powell established Powell wines with his partner. Their son, Callum, joined the venture in 2014 and such Powell & Son was born. Callum’s focus is on respecting the plants and nature and is a strong proponent of organic and biodynamic viticulture. The understanding of his vines and the resulting fruit is reflected in the quality of the wine.
This wine is a classic example of an excellent Eden Valley Riesling. Made from some of the best fruit the region has to offer, prominent aromatics of white flowers and stone fruits are intermingled with wet stones. The palate is fresh and lively, offering crunchy white apple, lime pith and grapefruit zest. Fermented till dry, this wine has a lively acidity and zingy expression.
Pair with grilled white fish with lemon and capers or opt for a hearty dish of roasted root vegetables.
