This delicate, but complex wine highlights what proper sourcing of grapes and selection of vineyard sites can produce.
The Nerello Mascalese vines were planted in 1975, 750m above sea level on the lava sand slopes of the active volcano Mt Etna. The resulting wine shows a mineral-rich complexity no other terroir is capable of producing.
This wine shows notes of bergamot, wet leaves and subtle white pepper blended with violet and red berry fruit. It is juicy, but delicate with smooth tannins. It also shows vibrant acidity with a long finish. Enjoy with lean red meat or traditional Sicilian hard sheep cheese.
