The Farr family have produced outstanding wines from the Geelong region of Victoria since 1978. Their plot was first planted in 1994 and produce many of their premium wines today. With experience hailing from Domaine Dujac of Burgundy as well as Bannockburn in Victoria, Gary Farr has all the tools to make an excellent drop. Nick Farr took over from his father in 2009, eventually starting his own label ‘Farr Rising’. All of their wines are true expression of terroir and are made to reflect each vintage and vineyard site.
The grapes are foot stomped and then the grapes are left to ferment on skins in order to gently extract the aromatics. The By Farr Viognier has fresh peach and apricot notes on the palate with hints of gingery spice. It is very perfumed with roses and peaches springing out of the glass. Due to full malolactic fermentation, the acid is very soft and supple whilst maintaining its freshness. It is deliciously smooth and with a persistent finish.
Pair the By Farr Viognier with mildly spiced dishes such as Korma or Pad Thai.
