Woodlands’ vineyards were established in 1973 and were one of the first to be planted in Margaret River. They are located in the Wilyabrup Valley which is famed for its fabulous Bordeaux-style wines. All their vines are maintained by hand, ensuring careful maintenance and selection.
Woodlands’ Cabernet Franc Merlot blend has been produced since 2008, but only 20 barrels are released each year. The wine has aromas of cloves, cinnamon, ginger and Szechuan pepper, giving way to cedar and undergrowth. The palate is bright and juicy with aniseed and cherry shinning through. There is good structure with grippy tannins. Try this wine with panfried ocean trout or salmon or a spicy quinoa salad.
