The vineyards of Glenguin Estate were planted in the 1980’s. Today, the Estate is run according to organic and biodynamic principles. Their sites in the Hunter Valley are perfectly suited to Semillon and Shiraz, both of which are produced in boutique quantities. Master of Wine, Robin Tedder, is an award winning winemaker with decades of experience.
The Glenguin botrytis Semillon is velvety and silky on the attack and has a long and lasting finish. Lifted notes of candied orange peel are combined with the gingerbread spice typical of botrytis affected fruit. The palate is also full with a smooth, luscious texture. In addition, honeysuckle notes complete the flavour profile with a refreshing, cleansing acidity.
This wine is a great match with Foie Gras or a creamy blue cheese.
