The region of le Marche has been producing wine for centuries. Filiberto Venturi founded the winery in the 1970’s, with the view of keeping the traditions of the region in mind. The wines are created from vines grown on gentle slopes which feature a South-Eastern aspect. The mild elevation of the site ensures that the vineyard cools down during the night, allowing for acid to build up further in the grapes. With the vineyard cultivated by hand, they strive to keep it as healthy and harmonious as possible.
San Martino is best enjoyed fresh and carefree. With fermentation in stainless steel, the resulting mineral and fruity characteristics are key players. The wine has an intense nose with acacia, white flowers and green apple along with hints of white peach. Fresh fruity flavours also dominate with hints of saline minerality. It also has a medium to full body which shows good balance and excellent persistence.
The San Martino is an ideal match to creamy pastas and richer seafood dishes, such as fried calamari.
