Established in 1973, the Stoney Vineyard is one of the oldest in the Coal River Valley of Tasmania. The Jurassic Dolerite soils along with the cool climate produces wines with exceptional aromatics and delicate structure. Along with a wine making style taking inspiration from Bordeaux, the vineyards feature both Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. These factors allow Domaine A to consistently make some of top wines in Australia.
Domaine A Pinot Noir shows intense aromas of spicy dark cherry and cloves along with fresh mint. The 18 months spent on French oak produces a fuller body than most cool climate Pinot Noir’s. The resulting intense, deep flavours of dark cherry and raspberry are accompanied by undertones of sage. This wine also has a palate that is very well balanced, smooth, developed tannins and a persistent finish.
The Domaine A Pinot Noir is an ideal match to leaner cuts of beef or lamb.
