2016 Bass Phillip Estate Chardonnay

Named after two early explores of Victoria, George Bass and Arthur Phillip, Bass Phillip is one of Gippsland’s most premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producer. Their several vineyards in South Gippsland have been treated biodynamically for nearly two decades, further enhancing the signature of each vintage and soil type. This region also offers deep mineral-rich soils, natural humidity and cool temperatures. The resulting wines exhibit length, complexity of flavours and natural minerality.

Their Estate Chardonnay is rich and full on the palate with juicy flavours of fig and melon. Nuances of peach complete the fruit profile accompanied by a nutty complexity and creamy texture. This wine drinks beautifully now. 

Pair with grilled veal and mushrooms or pumpkin ravioli (if you can wait until the food is served).
