Mac Forbes is one of those Victorian producers who always manage to produce solid wines. His wide-ranging experience started over 20 years ago, making wine in Southern France. From consultant to teaching and marketing, Mac has explored most aspects of the wine industry. Now, with 6 different vineyard plots in the Yarra, he is devoted to make the best wine possible from each individual site.
With fruit sourced from the Gruyere vineyard in the Yarra Valley, this wine is a contender to be reckoned with. It has a perfumed and pretty nose with hints of menthol, leather and red and black cherry. A medium body with great structure and precision. Drink now or hold for another decade if so desired.
Merlot goes well with most meats, including roasted chicken. Delicious with a cranberry or red berry sauce.
