David Duband’s wines have been described as pure and splendidly rich. He follows organic practives and he uses minimal sulphur in his wines. The wines are made to show terroir and to celebrate the individual parcels of soil on which the grapes are grown. With more than 20 vintages under his belt, he is today considered one of Burgundy’s rising stars.
The 2015 Nuits-St-Georges is made from 50 year old vines, with fruit sourced from La Charmotte, Aux-Juliens and Les Plateaux. Ripe aromas of red and dark berries are noticeable, along with fresh wet soil and humus. The palate also has a good weight with a certain salinity and focus. Full and fine tannins support the rich mouthfeel, followed by a persistent finish.
Pair this wine with feathered game or duck breast, or otherwise it is a delicious partner to soft centered cheese such as Epoisses.
