Dalwhinnie is one of the oldest family run vineyards in Victoria, perfectly positioned in the stunning Pyrenees. They have an outstanding record of making premium Cabernet and Shiraz. The vines are protected from the worst of the elements by the high surrounding peaks. In addition, infertile soils help to keep yields low. They also use sustainable practices such as cover crops to add nutrients to the soil as well as to reduce the amount of intervention needed.
The 2014 Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz marks the 35th release of Dalwhinnie’s prestigious cool climate Shiraz. While deep red and purple in colour, it also has blue and red fruits on the nose. Dark red cherries and blueberries also feature heavily on the palate with underlying earth and floral notes. This wine has a broad and full mouthfeel with ripe and well integrated tannins.
The Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz is a perfect match to fattier cuts of steak served with red wine sauce.
