Louis Roderer has two outstanding grand cru vineyards in Cote des Blancs, Champagne. Unlike other producers, he chose to source the land to grow his grapes as opposed to acquiring them from other growers. The climat and terrior determines how he will treat the land. Thus, each parcel is cared for individually. His resulting wines are rich in complexity and show an outstanding finesse and elegance.
The Louis Roederer Blanc de Blancs is made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from the region of Cote des Blancs. Five years maturation on lees takes place before bottling, ensuring delicate and rich flavours of brioche and pastry. It is smooth and delicate with sweet red apple skin and white fruit flavours. The chalky minerality of Cote des Blancs shine through, balanced by elegant notes of fresh mint and basil. Sugared almonds and floral notes complement the soft beads, delicately coating the mouth.
With an optimum drinking window from 2020, this wine is one to enjoy now and for the next few years to come.
