Domaine Les Pallieres is one of the most well known high quality estates of the Gigondas. Their wines are carefully crafted and curated, respecting their climate and terroir. With vineyards ranging between 300 to 900 metres above sea level, their biggest challenge is to navigate the ever changing seasons and harvest. In later years, they have done a terrific job even though harvests can take place several weeks later than the surrounding areas of Chateauneuf du Pape.
The Terrasse du Diable 2010 is composed of 80% Grenache sourced from 45 year old vines. Bright crimson in colour with pronounced aromas of black raspberry, kirsch and limestone minerality. The body is medium to full with an elegant, but powerful structure. This wine drinks beautifully now, but it will keep for another few years if you can wait that long. It will be gorgeous with spicy and smokey vegetable dishes as well as classic lamb dishes.
