The vintage of 1995 was an early one. A warm spring and hot summer caused buds to open early and the ripening season was prolonged. As a result, the depth of flavour and concentration in the grapes was much higher than average. The quality and longevity of the wines produced proved to be exceptional, showing a richness and structure not seen again until the next decade.
Chateau Montrose 1995 shows its maturity with dense aromas of leather, undergrowth, truffle and violet. Coffee and dark chocolate notes sing across the palate. Made from 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is light and supple on the mid palate with great length and tight tannins.
Drink the 1995 Chateau Montrose now or cellar further for many years to come.
