Found in the great appellation of Saint Emilion, Chateau Cheval Blanc has a long history, a great reputation and is one of Bordeaux top producers. The estate is one of very few chateaus awarded the appellation GCC(A) (Grand Cru Classe A). True to its reputation, Cheval Blanc produces outstanding and age-worthy wines.

1995 was a top vintage for the region of Bordeaux. Of the right-bank, Chateau Cheval and Petrus both produced stunning, superb wines. The flowering started early, followed by a long and hot summer. Thanks to the maritime influence from the Atlantic, there was ample water available and the vines flourished devoid of any stress.

The 1995 Chateau Cheval Blanc has roasted coffee, praline and chocolate on the nose, along with emerging leather and truffle. Pretty undertones of violet and coconut are also evident, supported by a rich and concentrated palate. Perfectly ripe fruit and well-integrated tannins also lend to the full body. The finish is long and complex with tight and grippy tannins. 

This wine is a delicious match to a juicy rack of lamb and also to grilled lamb chops.
